The websites listed below are mostly in French. If you have a website that you would like to see on this page, please contact us so that we can agree on the terms:

Lascombes Sud-Ouest is the second branch of Lascombes Matériaux Anciens, a company originally based in the Yvelines, west of Paris. This depot collects, restores and distributes old building materials from the Dordogne (24), the neighbouring départements and the whole of South-West France (Midi-Pyrénées, Aquitaine, Limousin, etc.). The materials are chosen to match local architecture and the needs of each area, and the nearby storage considerably reduces transport costs.

Engraving of old buildingsRoyalty-free engravings of old buildings
A large collection of royalty-free engravings on the theme of architecture and old buildings. Nineteenth-century engravings from France and Europe, digitised to illustrate historical or tourism websites. From fortified castles to cathedrals, aqueducts and railway stations, an overview of the history of architecture through engravings. Each image is described and indexed with tags (keywords) to make searching easier.

Communauté Emmaüs de l’Autunois
The only Emmaus community in the Saône-et-Loire département (Burgundy), the Communauté Emmaüs de l’Autunois runs four shops in Etang-sur-Arroux, Autun, Montceau-les-Mines and Le Creusot. You will find small items such as toys, books and ornaments, second-hand clothes and furniture, but also reclaimed and old materials in the outdoor second-hand area: sanitary fittings, batches of roof tiles and other building materials. The community also offers free house clearances within its collection area. Emmaus companions are workers who live by the values of the movement founded by Abbé Pierre, a pioneer of the social and solidarity economy.

Baticompas
A comparison website for building, home decoration and DIY. It does not compare prices, but rather the advantages and drawbacks of each option. Should you choose tomettes or cement tiles? Which wood for a roof frame? Is a circular saw or a jigsaw the better tool? There is no definitive answer to these questions, but Baticompas gives you the information you need to decide.

"Mon blog Immo" brings together blog articles originally published on various property classified-ad websites in the 2010s. Some articles may be out of date, especially those about laws that have since changed, but many others are still relevant, particularly on the subject of ecological building. Mon blog Immo has therefore chosen to republish these articles, despite their age, on a single blog: an interesting source of information on housing and property.

Stripping tomettes is of course covered on tomettes.fr, but Je-decape.com is also an excellent source of advice on cleaning and stripping many materials, not only terracotta. This blog lists numerous articles published on other websites explaining how to remove paint, rust or dirt from all kinds of surfaces, whether stone, metal or wood. The articles are selected above all for their practical approach and their many illustrations, and are sorted by type of material so you can quickly find what you are looking for. To find out more about an innovative and environmentally friendly stripping technique, aerogommage.info offers a clear and well-documented overview of this technique derived from sandblasting. In English it is known as "abrasive blasting", or more precisely "compressed-air blasting", as the abrasive is carried by air.
